Zuzanna Ładyga - Michalska Ph.D.

Zuzanna Ładyga is a Ph.D. candidate in the American Literature Section of the Institute of English Studies, the Modern Languages Department at Warsaw University. She earned her M.A. from the department in 2001, for a thesis entitled "William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying and Donald Barthelme's The Dead Father: An Intertextual Transaction between Modernism and Postmodernism." She is currently working on her doctoral dissertation about the ethics of representation and affect construction strategies in the works of Donald Barthelme. In 2003, she received a research scholarship from the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies in Berlin. She teaches American literature and literary theory. A member of Polish Association for American Studies, she has participated in a number of local and international conferences on American literature, culture, and 20th century philosophy.
